Why Pre-Plan?

Pre-Planning reduces stress on your family members during intense grief by making difficult decisions ahead of time. It also ensures that your wishes are met to give you peace of mind. Some families do not know where to find certain information or have no idea what type of service to have, this is why pre-planning is a great way to make sure your family will not have to make any difficult decisions when they are grieving.

Pre-Planning also gives you the choice to set aside funding in a Burial Trust Fund account through SecurChoice in Pennsylvania if you do not want your family to deal with any monetary considerations.

Questions to Ask

  1. Think about what type of service you are thinking of having. (Chapel Service, Graveside, etc.)
  2. Any special considerations? Would you like photos displayed? Music playing during the visitation?
  3. Do you own cemetery plots? If so, what cemetery? Some cemeteries have restrictions on what type of casket (wood or metal) is used and if Taharah is required or not. We can find out the cemetery requirements for you.
  4. Would you like to draft up a death notice/ obituary for yourself or would you like to have your family write one for you?
  5. Are you planning on pre-paying for your funeral arrangements? We have SecurChoice as an option to pre-pay in advance either in full or with payments. You DO NOT have to pre-pay to pre-plan a funeral.

Once the funeral arrangements have been finalized, one of our Licensed Funeral Directors will prepare a pre-need statement with all the funeral merchandise selected and present you with the estimated cost. We do not guarantee pricing.

SecurChoice Trust Account

What is SecurChoice?

SecurChoice is the burial trust fund account in the state of Pennsylvania. SecurChoice allows individuals to set aside funding for their funeral arrangements in a burial trust fund account through PNC Bank as the Trustee before the need arises. This gives an opportunity for you to either make payments by setting aside an amount every month or couple of months and depositing into the account or the full amount can be deposited at the time of the arrangements. The account does gain interest overtime and can be transferred to any funeral home in the United States if something were to happen.

When the death occurs, we will contact SecurChoice with a copy of the signed death certificate. We will apply that amount to the funeral bill. If there is money to be owed, we will bill the family with the remaining amount owed, if there is money left over in the account, then once we have the funds, we will refund the remaining amount to the estate of the deceased.
